Series I consists chiefly of correspondence, clippings, manuscript biographies, genealogies, scrapbooks and memorabilia. Boxes 1-6 contain material pertaining to Henderson/Drown families, while boxes 7-8 consist of materials relating to Pond/McHenry families. Series II consists of 5 boxes of notes, published and unpublished writings of Inez Henderson Pond. Series III consists of materials pertaining to William Keith and his family. Box 1-2 contain biographical material and memorabilia. Box 3 contains papers of Keith Memorial Sketch Club of Berkeley (Calif.). Series IV consists of photographs from Henderson/Drown, Pond/McHenry, and Keith family collections.

Judge John McHenry migrated to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1850 from New Orleans. He opened law offices in San Francisco and commuted from across the bay from his land Temescal Rancho.
